LUSK- The citizens of Niobrara County have spoken. Voters headed to the polls on Tuesday November 7, 2017 to decide the fate of the requested reinstatement of the 1% sales tax to benefit Niobrara Community Hospital. According to Niobrara County Clerk, Becky Freeman, the unofficial results are 492 for the proposal and 94 against. The results will be canvassed with results available possibly as soon as Thursday, November 9, 2017.
The tax is expected to raise approximately two million over 3.5 years to pay for repairs, immprovemnets and equipment at the hospital.
