The 2A State Golf Tournament was moved from Friday and Saturday, September 15 and 16, to the following Monday and Tuesday in Sheridan because of inclement weather and started off on a very nice Monday afternoon.  Unfortunately, most of the Tiger play did not match the weather.  On that Monday Dylan Miller shot a 98, Cole Hart a 105, Micah Shaner a 106, Tanner Carpenter a 116 and Caleb Kremers a 140.  These scores put them into 6th place entering Tuesday’s round.  On Tuesday morning they met cold, windy, and wet conditions at the golf course and battled to great rounds.  They were only 11 strokes off the best team score of the day and finished the tournament in 5th place.  Dylan Miller shot a 93, 3rd best score of the day, Cole Hart came back strong with a 97, Micah Shaner shot a 100.  These scores were in the top 7 for the day.  Tanner Carpenter slipped to a 132 and Caleb Kremers improved to a 128.  Dylan Miller earned All-State honors for the 3rd consecutive year and Cole Hart earned All-State for the 2nd time.  The Lovell Bulldogs were the team champions and the Kemmerer Rangers were the runner-ups.  In the individual competition Jaren Fritz from Tongue River beat Brenen Hinckley from Lovell in a two hole playoff.

In the girl’s competition, Monday Mackenzie Lyons shot 111, Makena Engelker shot a career low of 122, Makayla Waldock shot 131 and Jozalyn Potter shot 160.  These scores put them in 3rd place by 2 strokes after day one.  Even though they improved their team score by 6 strokes a great effort by the Moorcroft girls denied them of a trophy. The team finished just 14 strokes out of a tie for second place in the team standings.  On Tuesday Mackenzie Lyons shot a 109 which was the 5th best score of the day, Makena Engelker shot a 126, Makayla Waldock got back on track with a 123 and Jozalyn Potter came in with a 162.  MacKenzie Lyons two day total of 220 earned her All-State honors for the 2nd time.  The Wright lady Panthers were the team champions and Rachel Sams from Moorcroft won the individual title with a total two day score of 192.
