SUNDANCE - The Tiger Golf Team traveled to Sundance and for the first time this spring they played against 2A competition. The girls’ and boys’ teams found success as both came home with team Championships from the tournament. The boys’ team played their best golf to date and finished with a team score of 377 to finish ahead of host Sundance-Hulett who finished with a team score of 395. Tongue River ended up 3rd with a team score of 408. Micah Shaner once again led the way with an individual score of 91 to finish in a tie for 6th and earn a medal. Ben Eiden and Ryan Bruegger both played well, each had career low rounds, and finished right behind Micah carding 92’s to finish tied for 8th place. Jayden Matthews makes strides every day in improving his game and he shot 102 for his low score of the spring so far. Dalton Larson also continues to show improvement as he shot his lowest 18 hole score of his career coming in with a score of 120.

We were very pleased with the results of the girl’s team as they won the team championship with a team score of 327 to beat out Tongue River (344) and Sundance (351). Ashley Christianson earned the 4th place medal with her career low round of 106. Makena Engelker remains steady and finished in 6th place shooting 110. Jozalyn Potter finished with her career low round of 111 to earn the 7th place medal. Lucy Ceaglske also finished with a career low score of 118 which put her in a tie for 9th place. Abby Kottwitz and Danni Larson also competed in a scramble format and Abby’s team finished in 2nd and the team Danni was on finished in 4th place.

The teams were supposed to compete in Moorcroft on Saturday but the tournament was called off due to the weather and course conditions. This week the Tiger golfers will travel to Wright on Friday and then they will host their tournament on Saturday with a shot gun start at 10 a.m. On Monday, May 6 the team will travel to Devil’s Tower to wrap up their regular season. On May 10 and 11 the team will conclude their season at the Spring Championships in Sheridan.
