Remembrance Day
The United Nations General Assembly established International Holocaust Remembrance Day. On Jan. 27 we remember the Nazi’s act of genocide so that no one else will suffer like that again.

Chocolate Cake Day
On a lighter note, take time to enjoy a sweet treat of chocolate cake; my all-time favorite.

The Niobrara County Library will be hosting a book discussion series featuring “The Oregon Trail.” Barb Baker, a local educator, returns to facilitate the discussions. The first in the series will be a classic among American frontier literature; “The Oregon Trail” by Francis Parkman. This book will be discussed on Feb. 1 at 6 p.m. at the library. You can call or stop by the library to register and pick up a copy of the first book.
Paint at the Library. Register now for the adult painting program, as space is limited.
It is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 5 p.m. Stop in the library or call to register.
Winter Afterschool at the library. Grades K – 2 will learn about big cats at “Feline Safari” on Tuesdays at 3:35 p.m. Grades 3-6 will enjoy “Canine Chronicles” on Thursdays. Students will learn through crafts, activities and stories. Please call 334-3490 to register your child as space is limited.
4-H STEAM Fridays continues Jan. 29 from 9 a.m. till noon. This program is open to all school age children. STEAM activities and a snack will be presented by the Niobrara County Extension Office. The cost is $5 per week, please register each week by Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. by calling 334-3534 or email niobcnty@uwyo.edu
