Today’s Obscure Holiday: National Jellybean Day
The jellybean dates back to at least the 1860’s when they were promoted as morale boosters for army troops during the Civil War. Today, jellybeans are more popular than ever and 16 billion a year are produced.

Where Would We BEE Without Pollinators? Free downloadable student educational materials are available on the National Association of Conservation Districts website at www.nacdnet.org/store/ to celebrate the theme of pollination. Also, the Niobrara Conservation District will be accepting posters from grades K-12, through April 24, for the Stewardship Week poster contest. A presentation on pollinators, contest rules and entry forms are available on the Niobrara Conservation District Facebook page. Winning posters will be on display at the Post Office during Stewardship Week, April 26 – May 3.
