LUSK – The Carnegie Library building in Lusk, Wyoming will be 100 years old in September of 2019.

In celebration of this milestone an art show celebrating the importance of libraries and the era during which the building was completed will be held this summer at the Niobrara County Library in Lusk.

The exhibit is a two-themed group exhibit open to all hanging media. Artists are invited to submit original artwork that conveys an interpretation of the theme “Libraries” and/or “1919.”

The exhibit will open Monday, June 10 with an artist’s reception from 5-7 p.m. and continue through July 26, 2019. As much artwork as possible will be accommodated throughout the building. There is a limit of two entries per artist. The show is open to artists of all ages and artists must be able to deliver their artwork and the completed entry form to the Niobrara County Library June 3-7, 2019. Artists must also be able to remove their unsold artwork after the exhibit has closed.

Artwork will be judged using the following criteria: overall impact, use of medium and use of theme: $200 Best of Show, $50 Honorable Mention, $50 Honorable Mention.

Contact the library at 307-334-3490, http://niobraracountylibrary.org or dsturman@niobraracountylibrary.org for hanging and exhibit requirements.
