GREENCASTLE, Ind. – Chester “Brian” Ragsdale died after a long battle with liver cancer on September 18, 2022 at the age of 67 years at his sister’s home in Greencastle, Indiana. He was surrounded by loved ones - his sister Coral, best friend Jeff and children Jeffrey, Rickie and Holly.
Brian was born on August 11, 1955 in Massachusetts and grew up in Nebraska and Washington. After serving four years in the Army as a young man he settled in southern California where he raised his children. Brian spent his later years on a beautiful ranch in Wyoming.
Brian had many hobbies and talents. He was hardworking, courageous, and strong. He could make anything with his hands. He was a master craftsman. He enjoyed rockhounding and building his Chevy hot rod. He loved showing it off at car shows with his friends. He taught his granddaughters to shoot and fish. Not a day went by that he wasn’t listening to music. He was a jokester and loved to laugh, but most importantly he would do anything for his friends and family. He never hesitated to help a neighbor.
Brian is survived by his three children and granddaughters Amelia, Lyla and Kaela. He is now resting peacefully at home with his mom and brother. A private memorial was held by the immediate family.
