LUSK – A total of 103 children were registered for the Niobrara County Library’s “Hey Kids! A Universe of Stories” summer program. Children set a goal of how many books they could read in a week and each time they met their goal twice, they received a certificate for swimming or ice cream. Children that met their goal all summer long are eligible for larger prizes; 24 children met their goal each week of the summer and two children missed only one week.
A total of 5,029 books were read during the summer program and an average of 50.5 children met their goal each week. The Friends of the Library, the library and donors provided prizes for the program.
