It’s that time of year when our attention turns toward the season of giving and one local business woman turned her thoughts of imparting benevolence into a neighborhood event.
“I was trying to think of a way to give back to the community and to keep shopping local for the holiday season. I think that our own town revolves around our businesses. I’ve had a lot of people stop by because businesses have referred them to our office”, said Tandy Dockery. While she obviously can’t give away houses, she can return the favor of referring others back to their stores. Her thoughts became a heartfelt gesture of giving back.
Dockery came up with the idea of Cocoa, cookies and coupons. She contacted the chamber of commerce members for their business cards, specials and coupons offered during the holiday as well as meeting with the reorganizing Main Street group. Dockery reports that they were all very receptive to the idea. Dockery encourages anyone and everyone to bring her their coupons and Black Friday specials and she will see that they are put in potential customers hands. With the prime corner location of intersecting highways, perhaps those travelers passing through after Thanksgiving, will notice the community camaraderie and will also be able to reap the benefits of local shopping in Lusk.
On Friday, November 23, from 8 – 10 am. You can stop by Clark & Associates Land Brokers, LLC for a little neighborhood networking, a hot cup of cocoa and enough gift ideas to finish that shopping list with the unique style of local products and services. The best part is that Clark & Associates will be providing curbside Christmas convenience. All you have to do is drive through their parking lot. They will bring the cocoa, cookies and coupons.
While some may be satisfied with the “Elf on the Shelf” approach the “Parking Lot Pixies” at Clark & Associates will be on the lookout for random acts of kindness throughout the holiday season. A reliable source reports that if you are caught doing something good there might be “something special” involved.
So make those lists, and check them twice because shopping local is ever so nice.
