LANCE CREEK – The first annual “Denim and Daffodils” dance was hosted by the Niobrara county MOPS group. The dance was free and held as a father-daughter dance. MOPS (Moms of Preschoolers) is an international women’s ministry group that has a Niobrara County chapter. The group had planned to host a dance last April but were unable to so moved forward with plans for this spring.
While the event was not large, those in attendance had fun. Girls danced, giggled, slid and twirled as their father watched on, even occasionally dancing with them. Many confessed they hadn’t been dancing in years and were enjoying the evening out with their girls.
MOPS has plans for future dances for families, along with barbecues and a special activity day for mothers and sons.
