In a final ceremony of graduations and new chapters, the 2017 8th grade class celebrated the end of their middle school days and the beginning of their high school careers on Wednesday, May 24. In a Promotion that focused on the students’ achievements thus far and the memories they’ve made, Chance Richardson presented his opinion piece and Drake Pena, Courtney Rowley, and Abby Kottwitz were on hand to present the memories they’d made since kindergarten. The eighth grade choir also performed at both the opening and closing of the ceremony.
As the future class of 2021 prepares to enter the summer with a new chapter of their lives, so does Mrs. Troudt, Mrs. Pfister, Mrs. Diercks, Mr. Pischel, and Mrs. Mendoza, all of whom were honored as the Tributes. Amanda Hicks, Emmily Pena, and Deanna West spoke about how each teacher had affected not only their school careers but also their personal growth, ending with good wishes to them on their next endeavors.
Each year Friends of the School Awards are given to parents that go above and beyond, this year three parents were honored: Tiffany Boldon, Erika Potter, and Lexie Ashurst. Russell Olmstead Citizenship Award is an award given each year to one boy and one girl of the eighth grade class, this year Bryn Bruch and Jasper Caldera were honored.
Good luck to the future class of 2021 and congratulations on your achievements this far!
