LUSK – The Niobrara County Future Business Leaders of American chapter organized a basketball program for the kindergarten, first and second grades, Nov. 5–8.
This program was called Lil Dibblers. It provided a chance for younger kids to get experience with the game of basketball, and the FBLA members a chance to mentor younger kids.
When the kids arrived at the high school the FBLA members were waiting for them to take them to the gym. The practiced started with stretching and then the kids were grouped up to practice dribbling, shooting, and defense.
After practice was over everyone lined up to get a healthy snack, after learning why it’s important to eat healthy after exercise.
On Thursday the kids put all their new skills to use in a scrimmage. The Lil Dribblers were also invited to come show off their skills at halftime during a high school basketball game.
FBLA would like to thank the kids and their families for this fun opportunity. After a fun week of dibbling, mentoring and healthy snacks we have some Lil Dibblers on the loose.
