Saturday night, October 20th was the 16th Annual Lusk, WY Friends of the NRA Banquet.  The Friends of the NRA (FNRA) is a grassroots fundraising movement. The complete goal of these fundraiser banquets is to promote shooting sports and protect the second amendment rights for future generations. The FNRA is the philanthropic arm of the National Rifle Association and 50% of all proceeds go to local and state-based shooting sports projects. (www.friendsofnra.org). Niobrara County has traditionally had one of the highest per-capital fundraising volumes in the Rocky Mountain Region. This year was no different and the Niobrara community once again came out in force to support this great cause. 273 dinners were served to residents age 8 months to 83 years. While final numbers were not yet available, the amount of money that was raised broke records again.
