Torrington High School Golf Tournament Results
The varsity golfers traveled to Torrington Friday to take part in the second day of their two day tournament. The Tigers took another step forward in preparing for the State Tournament in the middle of September. Dylan Miller led the way for the Tigers shooting a 91 with only two holes keeping him from getting into the 80’s. Cole Hart shot a 97 and like Dylan had two holes from keeping a score in the low 90’s. Micah Shaner continued his steady play but finally got into the 90’s with a 99. Tanner Carpenter and Caleb Kremers battled the tough back nine but still scored 120 and 124 respectively. As usual, they still made progress to getting where they need to be in a few weeks.
The girls once again improved with their ball striking and scoring and are moving steadily toward their goals for the end of the season. Mackenzie Lyons led the scoring with a 110, Makayla Waldock with a 125 and Makena Engelker with another personal record at 127.
This week the Varsity and JV travel to the Golf Club at Devil’s Tower for a Tuesday Tournament and then travel to Wright on Friday for a tournament before Labor Day.
