The golf team played in the Torrington Invitational on Friday and the players got to play in great weather and on a course in great condition. It was really good for our team to play on these fast and firm greens. The teams competed against all 3A and 4A schools. The girls team ended up with a team score of 430. Makayla Waldock led the way with a round of 136. Ashley Christianson shot 146 and Lucy Ceaglske shot 148. The boys team once again was led by Eli Wagner who finished with a team low individual score of 93. Cole Hart was right behind him scoring 96. Micah Shaner finished with a round of 101. Bryce Matthews played well shooting 111 and Garett Dixon rounded out the varsity scores with a round of 127. Tanner Carpenter played in the Junior Varsity Tournament and shot 124 and Caleb Kremers shot 127.
Saturday the Tigers hosted their own tournament and the players once again had great weather conditions to play in. The girls team finished with a team score of 438 to finish 3rd in the team standings. Tongue River won the team title with a dominating team score of 343 and Wright came in 2nd. Makayla Waldock and Ashley Christianson both shot 141 and finished just one place out of the medals. Lucy Ceaglske came in with a round of 156. The Boys Tournament was won by Wright with a team score of 378 and Tongue River placed second with a team score of 379. Lusk finished in 3rd place with a team score of 407. The boys team was once again led by Eli Wagner who was playing in his last Tiger Invitational. Eli finished with a solid round of 90 to earn the 3rd place Individual Medal. Cole Hart shot another solid round of 93 to earn the 7th place Individual Medal. Micah Shaner shot another steady round of 102. Garett Dixon rounded out the varsity scoring with a round of 122. In the JV Tournament Tanner Carpenter had the best round of his Spring season shooting 112. Caleb Kremers had his career low round of 121. Bryce Matthews also finished with a round of 121. Ryan Gilkey shot a 129, Ben Eiden finished with a score of 130 and Jacob Miller competing in his first stroke play tournament of his career finished with a round of 134.
This weekend the Tiger Golfers will finish their Spring season competing in the 2A Spring Championships in Lusk on May 12th and May 13th. It should be a very competitive tournament with all of the 2A teams in the state competing with a total of close to 80 golfers.
