The High School Golf Team finished their Spring season at the Lusk Golf Course playing under excellent playing conditions.  The two day tournament consisted of two separate tournaments combined into one event.  The Spring Championship Golf Tournament consists of all of the 1A and 2A golf teams in the state.

In the girls tournament Sundance-Hulett led from start to finish and won the team title with a team score of 636.  Tongue River finished second with a team score of 675 and Wright finished in 3rd place.  The Lady Tigers finished with a team score of 912.   Kylee Knobloch of Tongue River won the Individual Championship with a two day score of 189.  Maggie Geil of Sundance-Hulett finished 2nd with a total of 200.  Ashley Christianson led the way for our girls shooting 152 on Friday.  Ashley improved by 10 strokes on Saturday shooting 142 for a two day total of 294.  Makayla Waldock finished with rounds of 147 and 153 for a two day total of 300.  Lucy Ceaglske finished with a two day total of 318.   All three girls just started playing golf this spring and did a nice job of working hard to start to learn the game.

The boys team ended up sixth in the team standings finishing with a two day total of 840.  They struggled the first day shooting 441 as a team but improved by 42 strokes on Saturday coming in with a team total of 399.  In a hotly contested tournament Tongue River ended up winning the Team Title with a score of 740.  Wright finished 2nd with a team score of 751 and Kemmerer and Sundance-Hulett finished in a tie for 3rd and 4th with a team score of 767.  Eli Wagner once again led the way for the Tigers finishing with a two day total of 194.  Eli finished his career with back to back rounds of 97 which was eight strokes out of earning a top ten individual medal.  Cole Hart had a tough day on Friday finishing with a round of 106 but bounced back well on Saturday shooting 92 to finish with a two day total of 198.  Garett Dixon finished his spring on high note shooting a career low of 109 on Saturday.  Friday Garett shot 115 for a two day total of 224.  Bryce Matthews finished with a two day total of 258.  Micah Shaner played solid and continues to improve shooting 101 on Saturday.  Dallas Millin of Wright ran away with the Individual Title with rounds of 71 and 74 for a winning total of 145.  Ian Ostler of Tongue River was a distant 2nd with his two day score of 177.

The Cowboy Conference Tournament consists of the following teams:  Kemmerer, Lusk and Lovell.

The girls found themselves in a tight team race for the Conference Championship as they trailed Kemmerer by just one stroke after Friday’s round.  Kemmerer had a team total of 455 and Lusk finished with a score of 456 on Friday.  Saturday the teams stayed close but Kemmerer ended up winning the Conference Team Championship with a team total for the two days of 907.  Lusk finished in 2nd place with their final team score of 912 just five strokes out of a championship.  Jenna Krell of Kemmerer won the Individual Championship with her total of 284.  Ashley Christianson earned the 2nd Place All-Conference medal with her two day total of 294.

Kemmerer won the Boys Conference Team Championship with their team score of 767.  Lane Hoover of Lovell won the Individual Conference Championship with a two day total of 178.  Eli Wagner, who was wrapping up his strong high school career, earned All-Conference honors placing 5th in the Individual Tournament and Cole Hart also earned All-Conference honors placing 7th in the Individual Tournament.

The Tiger Golf Team would like to thank the Town of Lusk for allowing us to host this culminating event and also Sean Duffy  and the grounds crew for all of the hard work they put in getting the course ready to go for us.
