LUSK – James R. Wadkins of Lusk was greeted by the loving arms of his daughter Jaime in Heaven on the morning of Sept. 11, 2020.

Jim is survived by his wife, Shirley, son Jack and his wife Emili, daughter Shirley and her husband Jason, and son James and his wife Meagan. Jim has 18 grandchildren between his four children.

Jim and Shirley decided to retire and relax after 44 years of construction, so they moved from Alma, Ark., to Lusk to work on the ZumBrunnen Ranch. While Jim liked being outdoors, be it fishing with his wife, hunting deer and elk with his kids, or just sitting on the patio looking at the night stars, Jim loved his wife and the family they
raised together.

His stories and humor will always be missed. He was always quick with a joke or witty remark, at the very end telling his son he got to ride in a Learjet when he was flown from Lusk to Casper or when asked if he wanted to be resuscitated, he responded, “ask my wife.”

A Celebration of Life will be at 1 p.m. on Sept. 26 at 1174 Kirtley Rd, Lusk, WY 82225. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Masterson Place, 310 S. Washington, Casper, WY or the Susan G. Komen Foundation are preferred.
