LUSK – Spaghetti and veggies went flying, while students went running, screaming and laughing last Thursday on the front lawn of Lusk Elementary and Middle School. The food fight, which lasted about 15 minutes, was held in celebration of K-2 students’ success on their state assessments.
All at once, students swarmed several tables piled with noodles and vegetables provided by K-2 teachers. Several teachers who decided to participate were popular targets.
Following the food fight, a water fight ensued, to clean off.
Principal Lu Kasper said the teachers had suggested a water fight, “but the kids’ idea was a food fight.”
Following the event, several students thanked Kasper and their teachers and took class photos.
“The first and second grade teachers are the ones that pretty much commandeered this. The kindergarten teachers helped organize it, but they didn’t want to get wet, and I don’t blame them,” Kasper laughed.
Kasper said different grades celebrated in different ways – the third through fifth graders went bowling and middle-schoolers went to Jump Craze in Casper.
