GLENROCK – The Niobrara County High School girls’ basketball team picked up a key quadrant win Friday night in Glenrock, but it wasn’t easy.
Courtney Rowley made her season debut for Niobrara County High School and her 3-pointer kept the Lady Tigers within 6-4 in a rugged opening stanza. NCHS was atrocious from the charity stripe and could have made life easier but managed to take a 13-11 halftime lead.
The home team warmed up from the arc in the second half with six treys and kept Lusk fighting for every possession. NCHS trailed 17-14 entering the fourth period, but Rowley hit a pair of treys.
Riley Shaw added another to keep the game a one possession game into the final minute. Jozalyn Potter’s rebound and put back with 12 seconds left gave NCHS the lead and her free throw gave the Lady Tigers the 38-36 win.
