PINE BLUFFS – The Pine Bluffs Lady Hornets used an early 5-0 lead to take control last Friday evening to drop the Niobrara County girls’ team to 1-1 in quadrant play.

The Lady Tigers clawed back, and Krueger’s triple gave Lusk a 17-15 lead, albeit briefly. Despite six turnovers, the Hornets responded and took a two-point lead into the break.
With the aid of several NCHS turnovers, Pine Bluffs used a 12-2 run to create some space on the scoreboard. The lackluster offense by the Lady Tigers, and a still recovering Courtney Rowley saw the home team go up 35-24 after three quarters.
Riley Shaw scored an old fashioned three and sank two long bombs to keep NCHS within five points as time wound down. The Lady Hornets used a 7-1 run to finish off the game in the 50-39 final score.
