LINGLE – Friday evening the Niobrara County High School volleyball team went to Lingle and held off several challenges from the Lingle-Fort Laramie Lady Doggers to win the first set 25-21.
The home team responded with a 25-11 second set win. The lead went back and forth in the third set, but LFL held on for the 25-21 win. The Lady Doggers closed the match by a 25-15 score.

LUSK – Ten varsity teams visited Lusk last Saturday, and the Lady Tigers faced Wright first. The visitors edged out a 25-18 win in the first set and took an early 8-1 lead en route to the 25-10 win in the second set.
The Lady Tigers defeated Hanna-Elk Mountain 25-21 in the first set, but the Lady Miners scored six of the final eight points in the second. They slipped away with the 25-24 win, which propelled the visitors to a big 15-2 third set win.
Hulett was next up and the first set was tight all the way with ties at seven, 23 and 24. Jaden Stauffer put one in the floor for the 25-24 win. The visitors used a 21-6 run to tie the match and send it to a third set. NCHS was off to a 9-4 lead before the Lady Red Devils reeled off an 11-3 run to win 15-12 and take the match.
A long day of volleyball concluded with the Lady Tigers facing the WyoPreps.com fourth-ranked Moorcroft. NCHS battled fatigue and played close sets with the Lady Wolves in the 25-20 and 25-17 defeats.
This week the Lady Tigers visit Pine Bluffs on Saturday with the junior varsity contest beginning at 1 p.m. with varsity to follow.
