GLENROCK – The Lady Tigers came through the non-conference portion of their schedule with an 8-4 record, and opened the 2A Southeast region with a pair of road games last weekend.
Friday at Glenrock, Lusk pitched a first quarter shutout 13-0 over the winless Lady Herders, and put up another baker’s dozen in the second period. The lead was 26-6 at the break and NCHS used the second half to fine tune the nine-deep rotation of Head Coach Deb Murray. It was just the fourth game this season she had everyone available. After three the score was 42-13 and ended up a 56-18 win for the Lady Tigers.

Southeast edges Lady Tigers
YODER – Cyclone Gym has always been one of the most difficult places to play and Saturday was no exception for the Lady Tigers. Taylor Gaukel and Southeast’s Ellie Schmitt traded a few baskets back and forth, with each scoring six of their teams’ nine first period points. As the game settled into a typical, slow, physical contest, good shots were hard to come by and harder to go in the hoop. NCHS led 20-16 at the midpoint and extended the lead to nine as the third wound down. Ashley Christianson buried a three pointer at the 6:57 mark, but after that moment the Lusk offense fell silent. The home team came back behind a 13-3 run, mostly behind role-players as they squeezed out the 35-32 win.
