The Lady Rams have a solid program and were able to reverse the outcome of last year’s game in Lusk. First game jitters shouldn’t have been an issue but the Lady Tigers were out of sync from the get go. Crawford won the first set 25-17, but it took an extra few points for them to claim the second 29-27. NCHS tried to send it into a fourth set but the young Lusk girls came up short 25-19.

Friday’s home opener had the Lady Vikings visiting and getting within 8-5 in the first set before a timeout was called by Lady Tiger Head Coach Sandra Johnson. After the huddle soph Bryn Bruch reeled off eight serves in a row-forcing G-S to call timeout. It took a few minutes to sink in as Bruch got off three more as NCHS cruised 25-6. The visitors took a brief 5-4 lead in the second set before Lusk took over and won 25-12. The Lady Tigers closed out the sweep with a 25-19 third set win.

The JV lost to Crawford 25-14 and 25-23 and slipped against G-S 25-21, 20-25 and 25-17. In the two matches Danni Larson served 10 for 10 while Renae Marker had 24 attack attempts and six of those were kills giving her a 25 percent kill average.  Harlee Blair had seven attack attempts and three of those were kills giving her a 43 percent kill average, as Larson had eight of nine digs giving her an 89 percent digging average.

This week the Lady Tigers go to the Big Horn tournament and will face off against Sundance, Arvada-Clearmont and Greybull in pool play Friday. Saturday will be bracket play for all teams.
