Posted

Recent NCHS graduates Miranda Gilkey and Amanda Smith get to represent Lusk one more time before heading off to college. The Wyoming Coaches Association All Star games will be at Casper College on July 21.

Smith will play in the volleyball game for South coaches Marnie Garner and Aubrey Griffiths from Rawlins and Becky Baker from Laramie beginning at 1 p.m. Smith led the Lady Tigers to the state tournament for the first time since 2005 and was also named all state as a senior.

Gilkey was the 2A Southeast Conference girls basketball player of the year and first Lady Tiger since Erin Nelson in 2005 to be named to the All State team. The girls basketball game tips off around 3 p.m.

Deb Murray has been selected to coach the South girls team, and will be assisted by Rich Murray and Torrington’s Jeff Halley. Both Murrays have been involved with “too many to count” coaching appearances over the years.

The boys basketball game will begin after the girls game-Pine Bluffs Haize Fornstrom is the only representative from the 2A East Conference.

Hunter Dockery and Matt VandeBossche (2014 basketball), Taylor (2008 basketball) and Trent (2011 basketball) Johnson, Whittney (2007 golf) and Michael Coon (2011 golf), Sami Starkey (2013 basketball), Alissa Peterson (2007 golf), Hailey Bruegger (2014 volleyball), Dawn Jenkins (2008 volleyball), Travis Smith (2013 basketball), Matt Ottersbach (2005 basketball) and John Jassman (1990 basketball) are just a few of the former NCHS alumni to play in this prestigious event.
