The Tiger track teams had a great day as they travelled west to Glenrock for the Finch-Lehner Invite.  The girls scored 120.5 team points to win the track meet while the boys scored a season’s best 44.5 to place 7th.

Field events continue to score the majority of the points for the Tigers as the girls placed at least two individuals in each of the six field events.

Tillie Schmidt had an outstanding day in her first meet of the year earning silver in the 100 hurdles and high jump and bronze in the long jump.  Her efforts earned her Tiger Athlete of the Week

The Mirandas had another stellar day as Mosley set a new career best in pole vault going 8’ 9” to win that event.  Miranda Gilkey won the high jump in 4’ 10” and triple jump in 33’ 5.75”, also placed 2nd in the 300 hurdles, and 5th in the long jump.

Taylor Gaukel continued to put up points for the Tigers as she placed 4th in the both hurdle races and 2nd in the triple jump going 31’ 5.75”.

Jalyn McDaniel also had a career day in pole vault clearing 8’ 3” for the first time.

The throwers continue to make strides as Mackenzie Lyons and Marie Hendrickson placed in both shot and discus.  Lyons placed 3rd in the discus going a career best 95’ 9” and 5th in the shot.  Hendrickson placed 4th in the shot put going 30’ 2” and 5th in the discus.  Reygan Molzahn also had a career day placing tied for 8th in the shot put and setting bests in both events.

The girls’ 4 X 800 relay of Gaukel, Mosley, McDaniel, and Julianne Graham continues to impress as they ran 11:39 to win gold.

The boys’ track team continues to improve each week.

Traylin Bruegger had a career day smashing his career best marks in both hurdle races.  Bruegger earned silver in both events going 17.11 in the 110 hurdles and 43.37 in the 300 hurdles, which is a prequalifying time.  His marks earned him Tiger Athlete of the Week.

Thrower Jake Heil also had a fantastic day as he placed 3rd in the discus going 108’ 1 and 4th in the shot put at 40’ 10”, just off his all-time best.

Wyatt Stauffer tied for 6th in the high jump at 5’ 4”, placed 6th in the 110 hurdles, and 7th in the 300 hurdles with a best time of 48.04.

Jacob Muir placed 8th in the pole vault.

All three relay teams placed for the Tigers.  The 4 X 800 team of Will Fish, Jacob Muir, James Stone, and Teagan Tschacher ran 10:06 to place 4th.

The 4 X 400 team of Tschacher, Stone, Bruegger, and Pacen Gifford ran a season’s best 4:00 to place 6th, while the 4 X 100 team of Damien Molzahn, Kade Clark, Zach Vandeberg, and Kaden Gaukel took two seconds off their time to place 7th.
