LUSK - Prior to seven years ago, Ashiley Lang had been interested in expanding her photography skills but had never pursued it. She had used point and shoot cameras and her cell phone but that all changed with the birth of her eldest daughter. Following her daughter’s birth, she upgraded to a better DSL camera and she began shooting and learning everything she could after that. Her passion has grown and has become something she lives to do now. Her desire is to convey that passion with every picture she takes and she strives to continue to learn and grow. She is completely self-taught, using media, web, and conferences/retreats to learn more about her craft.

It took her another four and a half years and the encouragement of family and friends before she would decide to share her passion for photography by starting a portrait and documentary photography business. The biggest motivator for her to start a business was to share her love and passion with others. Lang doesn’t have one particular genre that she likes more than others; rather she has focused on natural light lifestyle and documentary photography. As she says, “I love births, fresh 48’s (newborns), lifestyle newborns, family sessions, weddings, kids (especially my kids) and ranch life.”

When asked what type of equipment she uses and if she plans to expand she responds, “I shoot Nikon with a mix of different lenses.” Then, with a smile states, “There’s always room for more photography equipment.”

She does not currently have any personal projects or specific plans in the works for her business. She wants to continue to expand her skills and her client base.
