Legend Board begins casting calls for upcoming pageant

The Legend of Rawhide Board completed another meeting last Wednesday as the date for Legend moves closer. The Legend Board, comprised of twelve board members and three directors, will continue to meet the third Wednesday of every month until June when they will move to weekly meetings as they work to finalize plans.

At this point in the game, ideas are coming together, “The meetings are centering on starting the advertising and reviewing the committees.  The cast calling has started and we are finalizing the schedule of events” states Twila Barnette, a Legend Director. Events will include the return of the poker tournament (for more information call 303-601-4699) and a new corn hole tournament in the works for Saturday.  “There is also talk of having a band Saturday afternoon in the barn for your listening enjoyment” states Twila Barnette, a Legend Director.

While there will be no craft fair this year, the Legend is currently accepting applications for food and craft vendors. “There have been some changes to our vendor form and it will be mandatory to fill out a form and have everything in order, before anyone can set up” comments Barnette.

Music this year will come again from Tris Munsick and the Innocents whom the Legend got a great response from last year.

One of the more important decisions surrounding the Legend has also been made concerning this year’s dedication. Every year the Legend of Rawhide weekend is dedicated to a citizen who has gone above and beyond to help with various aspects of the Legend. This year, “The Legend Board is pleased to announce that we will be dedicating this year’s performance to John Eddy.  He has been an ever present force on the fire department and extremely helpful behind the scenes.  John is responsible for making sure the little details get carried out and things run smoothly”.

As always, the Legend Board is extremely grateful for assistance and the community support in making the Legend as great as it is.
