The LEMS middle school girls’ basketball season started in Pine Bluffs with the South Pentangular. The white team started off the day playing the Burns B team. Burns outscored the LEMS Lady Tigers 18-34. Box Score: P. Potter 4; P. Allbright 5; A. Blair 6; S. Miles 3
The red team then played the Burns A team; they started slow in the 1st quarter but then played well the next 3 quarters to come up short 27-33. Box Score: A. Blair 6; L. Kruegar 6; E. Richards 2; K. Arnold 2; L. Bauersachs 5; S. Miles 6
Next the LEMS Lady Tigers played Pine Bluffs, where the white team played very well and had multiple steals to outscore the Hornets 25- 16. Box Score: T. Manning 2; P. Potter 3; S. Lemons 1; P. Allbright 2; A. Blair 11; S. Miles 4. The red team struggled to find consistency and energy on defense in the 2nd game of the day and lost 25-28. Box Score: E. DesEnfants 2; A. Blair 2; L. Krueger 7; E. Richards 2; L. Bauersachs 12.
The LEMS Lady Tigers then took on Guernsey on Tuesday Oct. 23rd at home. Both teams played very well and had a great defensive effort to win. The white team won 17-4 and the red team won 32-4. On Thursday, Oct. 25th the LEMS Lady Tigers played Southeast at home. The white team lost 11-19 and struggled to find offense. Box Score: P. Potter 2; P. Allbright 1; A. Blair 4; S. Miles 2
The red team also struggled offensively losing 10-35. Box Score: A. Blair 1; L. Kruegar 2; K. Arnold 2; L. Bauersachs 5.
The LEMS Lady Tigers played Lingle-Ft. Laramie on Tuesday, Oct. 30th. The white team started the night with an energetic first quarter scoring 10 points, but then struggled the rest of the quarters ending up falling 14-19. The red team played the 2nd game of the night where both teams struggled with fouls and free-throws. The LEMS Lady Tigers were 5-23 from the free-throw line and Lingle was 7-31. Final Score: LEMS 27- Lingle-Ft. Laramie 31. Box Score: E. DesEnfants 2; A. Blair 1; L. Krueger 1; E. Richards 4; K. Arnold 4; L. Bauersachs 13; S. Miles 2.
This past Friday the LEMS Lady Tigers played Newcastle. The white team played some consistent defense, and offensively got to the free-throw line where they were 6-12 from the line. They played a very good game but came up short in the 4th quarter and lost 14-21. Box Score: T. Manning 2; P. Allbright 6; A. Blair 4; S. Miles 2. The red team had a slow first half where they struggled with Newcastle’s length and speed. In the 2nd half they came out with energy and fought back but lost 22-44. Box Score: E. DesEnfants 2; A. Blair 3; L. Krueger 4; E. Richards 2; L. Bauersachs 11, 5- 6 from FT.
The LEMS middle school girls’ basketball team will travel to play Guernsey on Tuesday November 6th, and to Glenrock on Thursday November 8th.
