Monday, Jan. 27, the film, “Swing Vote” will be presented as the first film in the We the People Dinner & Movie series. The film begins at 6 p.m. and a light meal will be available. Deane Tucker, Chadron State College, returns to lead the discussion.

Wednesday, Jan. 29, the winter PG-13 discussion series kicks off with the film, “The Maze Runner” at 3:45 p.m. The book, “Running Out of Time” by Margaret Peterson Haddix will be available to pick up for the discussion series which begins on Feb. 5 at 3:45 p.m. and continues through Feb. 12.

On Wednesday, Jan. 29 Doug Chamberlain will present and sign copies of his book, “Bury Him” at 6:30 p.m. Copies will be available to purchase. In this frank, engaging memoir, Captain Chamberlain chronicles the missions, personal courage and sacrifice of the Marines he was privileged to command; painfully recalls the unspeakable order he and his Marines were forced to obey; and the cover-up which followed. Nearly four decades later, Captain Chamberlain makes right what was wrong, brings some closure to the men who were under his command, and attempts to put to rest the guilt which plagued his military career and life. Unlike most books on the Vietnam War, this book is written at a tactical level by a Marine Company Commander who was there. ​

Thursday, Jan. 30, the new series, “Around the World” will kick off with Tina Kitras-Seaman presenting images and information about her recent time in Greece. This program begins at 6 p.m.

Danielle Steel’s latest novel is “Spy.” At eighteen Alexandra Wickham, a beauty who seemed destined for a privileged life, is presented to King George V and Queen Mary. By 1939 England is at war and Alexandra has drawn the attention of a special brand of the Service where she learns the art of espionage, leading to life and death missions behind enemy lines. No one can know about the work she does – not even the man she falls in love with. “Spy” is also available in RB Digital.

Other new fiction books are “Guilty Not Guilty” by Felix Francis, “The Second Sleep” by Robert Harris, “The Rise of Magicks” by Nora Roberts, “Wyoming” by J.P. Gritton, “Moccasin Track” by Reid Lance Rosenthal, “The Case of the Spellbound Child”, by Mercedes Lackey, “Genesis” by Robin Cook, and “Nothing More Dangerous” by Allen Eskins. Maggie Stiefvater’s “Call Down the Hawk” is now among new young adult books.

“Edison” by Edmund Morris joins “Wild Migrations: Atlas of Wyoming Ungulates” by Matthew J, Kauffman and “Finding Chika: a Little Girl, an Earthquake, and the Making of a Family” by Mitch Albom in the new non-fiction section.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior titles, “A Tale of Magic” by Chris Colfer, “More to the Story” by Hena Khan and “Juana & Lucas: Big Problems” by Juana Medina. Some of the newer easy books are “Ghost in the House” by Ammi-Joan Paquette, “One Fox: a Counting Book Thriller” by Kate Read, “I Love My Glam-Ma” by Samantha Berger and “Smell My Foot” by Cece Bell.
