Linda Schuman, 69, of Rapid City SD, formerly of Arvada, CO passed away Friday, November 17, 2017 at Fountain Springs Healthcare after a 15 year battle with lung cancer.
Linda Jean Erickson was born December 5, 1947 in Brookings, SD to Eugene (Gene) and Ellva (Hanson) Erickson. Linda graduated valedictorian of her class from Colome, SD High School in 1966.
After graduation she then attended and graduated from South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD. She traveled to Denver where she started her professional career in the Denver District Attorney’s Office. She was a true professional and thrived at her job. She was very proud of the good work that was done in her office for the city of Denver. During that time she met many special co-workers who became her “work family”. After spending 37 years on the job that she loved, cancer forced her retirement.
Linda enjoyed working in her flower garden, her pets, cooking, and spending time with her friends. In her last years she truly enjoyed the staff at Fountain Springs and looked forward to seeing them each day.
She is survived by her parents, Gene and Ellva Erickson of Rapid City, SD, her siblings: Laurel (Jack) Hunter of Crawford, NE; Julie (Rex) Tollman of Lusk, WY; Jeff (Linda) Erickson of Sioux Falls, SD; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her ex-husband Paul, her grandparents and one nephew.
A family graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
