LUSK – Loretta Mae Wilkison, 83, passed from this earth Tuesday, Feb. 23, at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 6, at 1 p.m., at the First Baptist church in Lusk with pastor Tom Strock officiating. Burial will be at the Lusk Cemetery. 
Loretta was born Nov. 5, 1937 near Chadron, Neb., to George R. And Leone Atchison. She lived with her parents near Chadron until 1947 when they moved to the ranch north of Harrison, Neb. 
There, she went to country school until high school, which was in Harrison, Neb. 
She married Lenard H. Wilkison in Mitchell, Neb., on May 3, 1955. They lived in Lance Creek for three years before moving to Lusk, where they made their home and raising their family.
Loretta worked for several years as a dispatcher at the police department. When the women’s prison opened in Lusk, she went to work there as a guard and continued there until retirement.
Although she was always busy with work, what was important to her was God and her family. She volunteered for church service whenever she could and was always about helping family, friends and neighbors.
Loretta is survived by one brother Darrel Atchison of Scottsbluff, Neb., one son Delmar Wilkison (Debbie) of Douglas, Daughter Lenore Hankins of Casper, six grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and many other family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother Paul Atchison of Blacksburg Va., one son Keneth Wilkison of Lusk and one daughter Julie Bolinger of Lusk.
