LUSK – Niobrara County resident Mildred Rae Broyles, 84, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at her ranch home near Lusk.

A funeral service begins at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at the Pier Funeral Home in Lusk with Pastor Blaine Ayers of Guernsey officiating.

Rae was born Nov. 11, 1936 to Halley and Margaret (Rhoads) Coldiron of Gillette. She then attended Gillette School until her graduation from Gillette High School in 1955.

Rae married Warren Broyles August 2, 1955 at Rapid City, S.D. She and Warren lived South of Gillette until 1971, then moved to Crawford, Neb. until 1974.

She and Warren and sons (Wayne and Clinton) moved ten miles north of Lusk where she remained until her passing.

The union of Warren and Rae resulted in two sons and one daughter. A son, Wayne, was born in 1962, a daughter, Sara, was born in 1965 and a son, Clinton, was born in 1967. 

Rae is survived by her son Wayne (Chin) Broyles, of Lusk, Clinton (Linda) Broyles, of Lusk, two grandchildren Preston Broyles of Wells, Nevada and Ty Broyles, of Lusk; her sisters Peggy Sullivan of Colorado and Sandra Lange of Douglas; and two great-grandchildren of Wells, Nev.

Rae was preceded in death by her parents, Halley and Margaret Coldiron, her beloved husband, Warren Broyles, and her infant daughter Sara Broyles.

The family suggest memorials go to Niobrara County Senior Center.
