NCHS holds 2018 Graduation

On May 20, 2018 the Niobrara County High School gym was packed with families and friends of the twenty-four students that make up the Niobrara County High School Class of 2018. Opening with a welcoming speech from class President Cole Mellott, NCHS School Board Chairman Joel Richardson then followed with a speech asking the students to really consider what they want next, to appreciate life, and encouraging them to follow their own dreams. Baleigh Abbott, Emma Ceaglske, William Fish, Trisha Hales, Jacob Heil, Rowan Jackson, and Dylan Miller made up the students that graduated with a cumulative GPA of 93% or higher. National Honor Society students included Baleigh Abbott, Emma Ceaglske, William Fish, Miranda Gilkey, Trisha Hales, Jacob Heil, Dylan Miller, Amanda Smith, Makayla Waldock, and Garrett Wurdeman. Class officers included President, Cole Mellott, Vice President Dylan Miller, Secretary Traylin Bruegger, and Treasurer, Jacob Heil. Following Richardson’s speech, the 2018 graduating class turned their chairs to a PowerPoint presentation that represented the last thirteen years of their lives. Class Salutatorian Dylan Miller thanked his class in his speech for the memories followed lastly by Valedictorian Jacob Heil’s speech. Class Motto was ‘Don’t tell me the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon”—Paul Brandt. Class Flower was the Gerber daisy. Class Song was ‘Here I Go Again’ by Whitesnake. Class Colors were red and silver. With the presentation of the diplomas, the Class of 2018 happily moved their tassels over on their hats and prepared to enter the next chapter of their lives. Congratulations Class of 2018.
