NCHS Rodeo Team held their annual St. Patrick’s Day-themed fundraising dinner over the weekend. To the tune of roughly one-hundred-twenty attending the event, a dinner was served along with a silent and live auction. Top auction items included a handmade bit by Gary Johnson, purchased by Ted and Jana Holman, a 1/2 pig and processing purchased by Mark and Kristine Groh, and a Gallo Sugar Shine stud fee purchased by Andy Barnett. Bob Johnson also won a pistol at the event.

This year’s NCHS Rodeo team is comprised of Kylie Strauch, Rylee Matthews, Sadie Sturman, Peyton Kottwitz, and Kayla Pena. They are coached by Skye Martin.

In addition to the dinner and auctions, the team also raised money to send in the baskets Donna Hanson’s comprising for those affected by the prairie fires in other areas. Per Martin, roughly $10,000.00 was raised for the team. The money will go towards scholarships, rodeo clinics, and travel money to nationals for the girls should any of them make it. On a final note, Martin states, “We would like to thank: Gary Johnson for the bit, Clark and Associates for donating the meat, and Teri Goddard for donating her time and preparing the meat. Josh Keller for being our auctioneer, Bill Proctor for emceeing our event, The Pizza Place for donating rolls, and Carl and Cheryll Christiansen for donating the dishes, silverware, and their time. All the silent auction donors, the community for their generous support. Our families for helping and supporting us. Without each of you, we could not have had such a successful evening for the kids. Thank you!”
