LUSK – The Niobrara County High School wrestlers traveled to Belle Fourche, S.D., to compete over the weekend.
Donovan Kruse picked up a first-round win, only to drop his next two matches at 106 pounds. James Cushman put together a good 3-2 performance, but found himself just outside of placing in a large bracket at 126 pounds.
Dylan Molzahn wrestled his way into a fifth-place finish at 182 pounds. Jasper Caldera bettered that by one spot, coming in fourth at 220 pounds.
Pacen Gifford once again made the finals, but had to settle for second. Neither Chris Hicks or Alija Pavone picked up a win last weekend, but both got valuable experience.
