As you are now aware, for the last two months we have been advertising for the position of principal for Niobrara County High School.  We are excited to share that we have selected six finalists to be invited to interview for the position.  We have scheduled interviews to begin on Sun., Feb. 11th and Mon., Feb. 12th and Feb. 13th.  Depending on availability of candidates this schedule is subject to change.  The finalists for the position are:

Christina Mills…Shoshoni, Wyoming

Christina is currently working as a Language Arts teacher and instructional facilitator in Shoshoni, Wyoming.  She has ties to Lingle, Wyoming where she used to teach and coach.

Phil Garhart…Ethete, Wyoming

Phil is currently the assistant superintendent of schools for Fremont County School District #14.  Phil grew up in Osage as well as taught Social Studies in Newcastle.

Cynthia Porter…Casper, Wyoming

Cynthia is currently working as an instructional facilitator in Casper, Wyoming.  Before her job in Casper,Cynthia taught high school math in Douglas, Wyoming.

Scott James…Glenrock, Wyoming

Scott is currently the middle school and high school principal in Glenrock.  Before his job in Glenrock, Scott was the director of instruction and assessment in Wheatland, Wyoming.

 Russ Budmayr…Ten Sleep, Wyoming

Russ is the K-12 principal in Ten Sleep Wyoming.  Before accepting the Ten Sleep job, Russ served as the high school assistant principal in Todd County South Dakota. 

Alan Bouchard……..Dayton, Ohio

Alan is a teacher in Dayton, Ohio.  Before teaching, Alan served as the principal for Rift Valley Academy in Kenya for 14 years.

We will conduct three interviews on Sunday afternoon and evening, two on Monday afternoon and evening and one on Tuesday afternoon and evening.  We want and value your input on selecting our next high school principal.  A public forum for each candidate is scheduled before the candidate’s school board interview.  The public forums are scheduled on Sunday at 1:00 pm, 1:45 pm, and 2:30 pm at the high school library.  Board interviews on Sunday are scheduled at 3:30 pm, 4:30 pm, and 5:30 pm.  On Monday, February 12th community forums are scheduled at 4:00 pm, and 4:45 pm at the high school library. On Tuesday, February 13 one community forum is set for 4:00pm at the high school library.  School board interviews are scheduled for 5:30pm and 6:30 pm on Monday and  5:30 pm on Tuesday.  Recruiting and hiring our next high school principal is a very important task as we move forward as a school district.
