Bill Burt of Manville celebrated his recent birthday by traveling with members of his family to the west end of Wyoming, stopping in Pinedale, Jackson, Riverton and Dubois and enjoyed Green River Lake, Brooks Lake and Falls on the trip. His son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Michelle Burt and daughter, Jackie Bredthauer accompanied him. They had left Thursday, June 27. Bill Burt had spent time in that area hunting elk, deer and moose with friends who had lived in the Lance Creek oil field when he worked there. Jackie stayed with Ray and Dixie Bredthauer, while other family, Tessa Freeman and her family and Ashley Burt and her friend, Ramon, joined them on their trip and stayed in cabins near Fremont Lake. While in Riverton, they spent some time in the Wind River Casino before heading home on the weekend.
Dale Greenough, Doug Greenough and their mother, Joanne Greenough, attended a family reunion in Nebraska on June 29. They gathered at Merritt Dam, south of Valentine, Nebr. Around two dozen family members showed up for the picnic on a very hot summer day when the temperature climbed over 100 degrees.
On Saturday, June 15, Terry and Elaine Griffith hosted a family reunion that was historically called a “cousins’ picnic”. The reunion was a gathering of the descendants of Joseph Addison and Margaret Jane Reid of Coin, Iowa. The picnics were first started in the 1960’s by the cousins who were the Reid’s great-grandchildren. This year’s reunion was co-hosted by Bumper and Kayle Berry of Torrington and Anne Leimser of Columbus, Mont. Those 34 family members attending the picnic came from Menlo Park, Calif, Billings, Absorkee, and Columbus, Mont, Pierre, S.D., Buffalo, Lingle, Laramie, Sheridan and Torrington, Wyo., and Denver, Woodland Park, and Pueblo, Colo.
