Other upcoming activities include crafts for the annual bake sale and bazaar held the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Orders will be taken for the wonderful cinnamon rolls (with or without nuts) and dinner rolls, which may be picked up by 2 p.m. on Nov. 26. The bazaar will have scrubbies, pot holders, Christmas ornaments, Magnets and many other holiday gift items for sale.
The members of VFW Auxiliary Post No. 3511 gathered on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Niobrara Senior Center to pack 20 boxes for shipping to military personnel, who entered the service from Niobrara County. Each box, which was packed to the brim with donations contributed by generous supporters of the project, also contained a letter of appreciation for their service along with thank you cards made by local school children. Anyone considering membership in this organization may call (307) 334-2777 to determine eligibility or have questions about the mission of the VFW Auxiliary. Men as well as women may now become members, since some might not have served in the military, but have eligibility through a son or daughter, who is or has served outside the United States during certain times of military actions.
