Niobrara County Quilters honor Col. Herder

LUSK- The Niobrara County Quilters presented a military honor quilt to David Herder in honor of his service to our country.

Colonel David W. “Sheep” Herder is the Vice Commander, 153d Airlift Wing, Wyoming Air National Guard. 

Herder entered the Air Force in September 1986. He served seven years on Active Duty which included three combat deployments in support of operations Just Cause, Desert Shield and Desert Storm. 

Herder joined the Wyoming Air National Guard in 1993. He has more than 4,300 flight hours, with 598 combat and combat support hours flown while deployed to operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. 

Herder was raised is Lusk, graduating from Niobrara County High School in 1982.
