$12.00 caught you dinner from On The Hook, a food truck, serving line-caught Alaskan Cod that appeared in Lusk last Saturday night, but you had to be quick, the truck sold out around a quarter after six! Stationed on Main Street in front of The Pub, Connie Halligan, Pub co-owner said, “It helped our business for sure! We were out of town, but Teresa and a lot of others contacted me today [March 4] with two thumbs up. I’m hoping next time we can be there”. Halligan also shared that talk of a drink special could be a possibility should there be a next time.
Based out of Laramie, Wyoming and a member of foodtruckrow.com, the truck serves their fish beer-battered and deep fried with a side of fries, a dish better known as Fish’N’Chips. Met with a healthy line from Niobrara County locals, Ollie Sigvartsen was among those who stepped out to give On The Hook a try, “I grew up on it [Alaskan Cod], but not deep fried” he stated, adding he was eager to try the fish in a new way.
Per their Facebook page, OnTheHookFishAndChips, the truck in Lusk was one of two (soon to be four) with the other stationed in Green River the same day. “I thought they were good, something different for a change” commented Lusk local, Royce Thompson. When asked if she would purchase the meal again from the truck, Verlene Matney exclaimed, “Absolutely! We both enjoyed our meal and are looking forward to the next time they come back!”
The following day the truck made it to Newcastle where it boasted selling out yet again.
