CHADRON, Neb. – Chadron State College freshman Alec Penfield won last weekend’s Chadron State Indoor Open in the high jump. It was the second indoor meet of the season after the 2019 Lusk graduate cleared 6 feet, 4.25 inches at the season opener in Golden, Colo., before the holiday break.
He cleared 6 feet, 6.75 inches in just his second college meet, and after the win was official attempted 6-8.709 but came up short.
2018 NCHS alumni Miranda Gilkey is still with the Lady Eagles track and field team but is currently sidelined with an injury.
