Richard (Dick) Kane, 82, of Douglas went to the Lord on March 18, 2023, after a short battle with dementia. Dick was born to Marie (Marking) and Joe Kane on December 24, 1940 in Hot Springs, SD. He grew up on the family ranch north of Lusk. He was educated in Edgemont, SD.
Dick was drafted into the army and served our country from 1963-1964. He was a member of the American Legion in Lusk. He was honored to serve.
Dick married the love of his life, Helene (Thomas) Kane, on September 18, 1965. To this union was born three children. Dick worked hard to provide for his family as a Master Electrician for TIC until he retired.
Dick was a fun-loving guy, who enjoyed hunting and taking walks with his dog Morgan. His favorite hobby was riding his motorcycle on the open road. He loved his family most of all. He is a beloved father of daughter Teresa (Dean) Neal, son Richard (Renee) Kane, and daughter Heather (Lee) Zahn. His grandchildren Quentin (Jessica) Kane, Hayley (Austin) Wright, Bailey Kane, Ashley Neal, and Easton Zahn. Great-grandchildren Noah Kane and Hunter Wright.
He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, four brothers, and one granddaughter.
Services will be held at Pier Funeral Home in Lusk at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 25, 2023. Interment will be in the Lusk Cemetery.
