Lusk High School graduate Sally Powers (class of 96), along with the year 2000 “Battlin Bears” Volleyball Team, was inducted into the Clara Klindt Rocky Mountain College Athletic Hall of Fame during ceremonies at the college in Billings, Montana, on September 15 & 16, 2017. The Bears went 31-7 her Senior Year, won the Frontier Conference regular season, as well as the Conference Tournament, and qualified for the NAIA Regional Tournament in Portland, Oregon. As a middle blocker her 3 years at Rocky Mountain College, she set a record for the most blocks in a match (21), most blocks in a season (240), and for a career (500). As an All-Conference and All-Region selection in 2000, Sally played a big role in the “Battlin Bears” 12th place ranking in the NAIA that Year. Sally was a 3 sport athlete (track, basketball, and volleyball) for the Tigers, helping them win several conference, regional, and state championships.
