LUSK – The Lusk Senior Center started ringing in the holidays on Nov. 21 with a dinner and holiday crafting.
The Thanksgiving dinner is an annual event for the Lusk Senior Center. “If we have a donor, then the meal is free – and we do this year,” the Executive Director Donna Ruffing said. The donors are anonymous until the center’s newsletter comes out in January.
The center also has a Christmas dinner, which is also free with the help of a donor.
The center’s crafting is hosted mostly on a volunteer basis and the class is taught how to do a craft that can be done at home. The crafts are available for purchase at the Senior Center Bazaars. “We have crafts, we have Christmas decorations, we have all kinds of things for sale,” Ruffing said. On the bazaar-shopping day in December kids can buy the crafts for $.25 per item.
