Solutions for Life, per their own description, is a CARF-accredited organization providing mental health and substance abuse counseling, individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, [and] case management. Holding several establishments in various locations, Solutions for Life offers a valuable service in Lusk and today they are operating at full force; fuller, in fact, then they’ve ever been before while also preparing some new and exciting programs for Niobrara County and local residents. The Lusk office, located at 905 S. Main St., currently has a staff of four including in house therapists; Patti Miller, receptionist, Ashley Groh, Case Manager, Carol Long, Therapist, and Hope Phelon, Therapist. Their current hours are 8am to 7pm Monday through Thursday. Solutions for Life as a whole has operated ever since 1970 with the Lusk branch being in operation for a number of years, now new plans are in place to begin offering a wider selection of services, “We look forward to working with local organizations to better serve Lusk to meet the needs of the community together.  We have also taken the opportunity to visit several businesses throughout the community to introduce ourselves including Lusk Hospital, Senior Center, sheriff’s department, [and] high school” states the staff, adding, “We will be starting a Women’s Group, as well as an Educational Substance Abuse Group. After our Open House, we hope to gain knowledge on what the community needs so we can develop more programs for community members”. The Open House they refer to will take place on Wednesday, December 6 from 3:00-6:00PM at their office where Niobrara County and surrounding locals are encouraged to stop by, say hi, grab a refreshment, and get some information on the Lusk Solutions for Life office services and goals. There will also be a chance for some door prizes. “Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It helps us determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. Effective treatment attends to multiple needs of the individual, which includes addressing our mental health and substance abuse issues.  It is important we are available when people need us.  We feel having a local office where individuals do not have to travel to get their needs met will be a great asset to our community. Together we can make a difference” states the Lusk Solutions for Life.
