South girls win WCA All-Star game

Lisa Shaw/for the lusk herald The South team defeated the North at Saturday’s Wyoming Coaches Association All-Star game on the campus of Casper College.

CASPER – The Wyoming Coaches Association All-Star games took place on Saturday, July 24 on the campus of Casper College.

Niobrara County High School had two representatives in the girls’ basketball game, including former Lady Tiger player Riley Shaw and recently retired Lady Tiger coach Deb Murray.

The South team won the annual game 66-51 behind a game-high 25 points from Douglas’ Allyson Fertig.

By the end of the first quarter, the South led 16-11, pushing the advantage to 37-22 at halftime. The North squad trimmed the deficit to 49-40 heading to the final quarter of play before the South pulled away for the 15-point victory.
