Sports information platform customized for member schools

The Wyoming High School Activities Association (WHSAA) and MaxPreps, the online high school sports leader, have announced a five-year partnership agreement that will enable the WHSAA to provide a customized sports information platform for its member schools.

MaxPreps and the WHSAA will offer a publishing platform across desktop, tablet and mobile that will streamline the process of managing sports information from its member schools. The partnership enables all box score information published on MaxPreps.com to be automatically provided to the WHSAA for use in managing various initiatives.

Beginning in the 2018-19 school year, coaches will be required to submit scores to MaxPreps after each game to accurately track regular-season standings and results used for post-season qualifications. Coaches also will be required to submit team rosters and team photos to MaxPreps as part of the partnership. In addition, coaches will be encouraged to submit statistics in order to be included in WHSAA statewide statistical leaderboards, records and other initiatives.

“MaxPreps’ goal is to feature sports information from every team, every game and every player in America.  With our new agreement with the WHSAA, we are a step closer to our goal,” said Andy Beal, president and founder of MaxPreps.  “MaxPreps now works in partnership with 26-state high school governing bodies, and with the high quality of high school sports in Wyoming, we are thrilled to be able to share their accomplishments with the entire nation.”

“We are pleased to establish a partnership with MaxPreps. By joining together, it will enable our member schools and coaches to streamline their information to the media, parents and fans,” said WHSAA commissioner Ron Laird. “In the past, coaches had to contact several media outlets to share game scores, rosters and schedules. This will be a one stop information site that will benefit all involved.”

MaxPreps.com is the nation’s most visited site for high school sports coverage.  MaxPreps has been on the prep sports scene since 2002 and has successfully partnered with 25 other high school state associations. MaxPreps.com also is an official partner of the National Federation of State High School Associations.

About the Wyoming High School Activities Association

Originally founded in the 1920s to regulate athletic competition, the WHSAA has become much more than a regulatory agency. The purpose of the WHSAA is to insure that interscholastic activities in Wyoming are administered in a manner that is safe and fair to all. The Association is matched in every state and Canadian province by their own particular associations, all belonging to the National Federation of State High School Associations, which provide a means for State High School Associations to coordinate, to enhance, and to protect their interscholastic programs. For more information on the Wyoming High School Activities Association, go to www.whsaa.org
