The 400 Club: Lady Tigers win Murray's 400th

Posted

A little-known stat kept quiet during the Lady Tigers 22-5 record last season was head coach Deb Murray’s pursuit of 400 wins. In her eyes it was never a goal, just a result of longevity and success. None of last year’s players knew about this-and those few of us in the know, kept our lips zipped as regionals and state played out. Fate had its’ way and Murray was denied at 399 after losing two in Casper.

Enter a new season with a lot of supporting players becoming leaders, a tough early schedule and uncertainty. Friday morning the Lady Tigers opened the home team’s Coal Miner Classic in Wright. The Lady Panthers held a slim 25-19 halftime lead and fought off Lusk’s comeback attempt in the 44-40 final score.
