Tiger Golf team has last tune-up before Spring Championships

LUSK- The Tiger Golf team had their last tune-up before the Spring Championships this weekend with Tournaments at Torrington and their home course in Lusk.  The weather was beautiful and the golf courses were in fine shape for the golfers as the weekend was a perfect set-up for golf.  

The boys team was led by Micah Shaner again as he shot a 94 on the tough Torrington course and a personal best 84 at the Lusk links.  His 84 was good for 2nd place overall which was also a personal best for the sophomore.  Tanner Carpenter continued his improvement shooting a 104 in Torrington and 110 in Lusk.  His 110 tied for 16th at the Lusk Tournament.  Ryan Bruegger continued to be steady shooting a 106 in Torrington and 107 in Lusk.  The 107 was tied for 14th at the Lusk Tourney.  Ben Eiden shot a 117 in Torrington and a 114 in Lusk.   The 114 in Lusk put him in 17th place.  Caleb Kremers continues to play with a calm demeanor and shot a 120 in Torrington and he tied for 14th in Lusk with a 107.  Dalton Larson also played in the 9 hole division scoring a 71.  The boys team had a team score of 408 in Lusk to place 4th just four strokes out of third place.  Moorcroft won with a team score of 372.  Nobody placed in the Torrington Tournament as 4 teams from Cheyenne and Laramie along with Wheatland, Douglas, and Torrington filled the field.  

The girls team was led by Makena Engelker again as she shot a 112 on the Torrington course which was good for 12th place against all of the 4A and 3A schools.  In Lusk, she shot 118 which placed her 8th in that tournament.  Makayla Waldock shot a 121 in Torrington and 122 in Lusk and is just ready for that breakout round this weekend in Wright.  Ashley Christianson shot 119 in Torrington and 126 at Lusk.  She is another player who  is very close to taking multiple strokes off her score.  Joz Potter shot a 115 in Torrington and a 121 in Lusk which was good for a medal and a 10th place finish.  Joz has been bringing her score down steadily as she readies for the Spring Championships.  Lucy Ceaglske shot a 141 in Torrington and brought her score down to a 133 for the Lusk Tournament.   The girls tied their season low team score of 346 in the Torrington Invite.  The girls team ended up in 3rd place in Lusk with a team score of 361.

Both teams leave Thursday for Wright where the Spring Championships will be this weekend.
