YODER – The Niobrara County High School wrestling team went 2-3 on Saturday to finish 10th at the Southeast Duals in Yoder.
The Tigers opened the day with a 42-30 loss to the Glenrock Herders.
Cooper Stewart, James Cushman, Emery Bemis, Colton Coffman and Cameron Carpenter all picked up individual wins in the team loss.
In the second round, the Tigers came up short 36-30 against the Chadron (Neb.) Cardinals.
Miles Ashurst, Bemis, Coffman, Burkeland, Carpenter, Donovan Kruse, Stewart and Cushman scored wins for NCHS.
In the final round of pool matches, Niobrara County scored a 47-6 win over Sioux County, Neb.
Ashurst, Bemis, Coffman, Burkeland, Carpenter, Kruse, Stewart and Cushman tallied victories.
With a 1-2 record in pool action, the Tigers competed in the consolation bracket for their final two matches.
NCHS defeated Morrill, Neb., 38-18 to advance to the ninth-place match.
Bemis, Coffman, Carpenter, Kruse, Stewart, Cushman and Ashurst picked up wins.
In the final dual of the day, the Tigers fell to the Lingle-Fort Laramie Doggers, 54-29.
Stewart, Cushman, Blake Miller, Bemis and Coffman recorded individual wins.
The Tigers wrap up the regular season at the Hanna-Elk Mountain on Friday and Saturday.
